Reach out Into the Landscape
Author: Alfredo Thiermann
In 2019, Thiermann Cruz Architects realized a suburban villa on a very narrow plot of land in Santiago de Chile, which nevertheless has a generous appearance with courtyards and views that enter into a dialogue with the interior. This is achieved above all by a system of sliding and pivoting doors to give the interior as much freedom as possible. In his essay "The House at the End of the World" in the current Chile issue of archithese, Alfredo Thiermann presents two further projects – Casa II and Casa III, in which focuss on the interaction between landscape and architecture.
