Never Trust the Décor.
Author & collage: Katarina Bonnevier – 25.8.2020
Architecture has the Power to Alter our Ways of Living.
What if we stop seeing architecture as neutral backdrops for our lives, but perceive it instead as an actor that forms our worldview and us? One can think about architecture like the decor for a theatrical play, supporting certain narratives while others become strange, deviant, or queer. There is a promise that lies within this proposal to change our perspective. Because once we understand our roles in this enactment, we can take action and alter the settings, in order to make the world a place for all of us.
